How to Build a LinkedIn Profile That Attracts Recruiters
· 6 min read · Malish Careers
Recruiters search LinkedIn the way you search Google. Your profile ranks on keyword relevance, activity and completeness, and the two fields carrying the most weight are your headline and your About section.
Replace a job title headline with a positioning headline. 'Finance Manager' becomes 'Finance Manager | FP&A, Forecasting & Margin Improvement | SaaS and Manufacturing'. You have just told the search index three things it did not know.
Your About section should open with a direct statement of what you do and for whom, follow with two or three quantified proof points, and close with a clear invitation to contact you.
Then be visible. A profile that comments thoughtfully on industry posts twice a week surfaces far more often than an identical profile that never appears in a feed.
