How to Answer 'Tell Me About Yourself' Without Rambling

· 5 min read · Malish Careers

This question is not an invitation to narrate your CV. It is an opportunity to frame the entire interview around the value you bring to this specific role.

Use present, past, future. Begin with where you are now and what you own. Move to the two or three experiences that built the capability the role needs. Finish with why this role, at this company, is the logical next step.

Keep it to ninety seconds. Rehearse it aloud until it sounds conversational rather than recited, and adjust the middle section for each employer.
